Sharing Their Homeland With Us
The majority of these pictures are taken off from the Internet. A few are originals that I managed to get a shot of.
Black Bear. While there's evidence of these guys nearly all summer long (from their scat), I've only seen one. It was just before dark in early October out on Sandia Lane. I was sure I saw it again a couple of days later at dusk. But, sadly it turned out to be our neighbor's large black mail box and my wild imagination.
Friday Night Roundup! It was a warm summer evening and I was in the barn brushing the horses when I heard a "Moo." Questioning my mental faculties, I opened the barn door and discovered a steer running around the corral! Ten minutes later a group of cowboys on horseback came galloping down the road. The steer had gotten out and they'd been chasing it for several miles. After a lengthy chase around and around our pastures, they corralled it in the roundpen and loaded him up in a truck for the return trip home. There's always an adventure of some kind out here it seems.
